Aims to address the cultural, social, educational, recreational and leisure needs of Asian communities of West End. Activities include: luncheon club, yoga, music, meditation and exercise classes such as the GP Active Scheme. Provides mobile meals services for residents of Leicester. A day care centre for elderly and disabled people on Tuesday and Friday from 10.30-3pm can be accessed via social care services. Operates a members travel club. Transport available for West End only.

REMIT – mental health project

REMIT is a community education project for adults in Leicester and Leicestershire who experience severe and enduring mental health problems.

a range of courses every week, approximately 2 hours
most courses are non-accredited but learners can progress from REMIT onto mainstream to work towards qualifications.
these courses are available on referral basis only.

Where are we located?
Our main base is at the Leicester Adult Education College in the city centre. We also have some courses in other venues.

Provides a variety of counselling, educational and recreational activities for women and girls of all backgrounds, religions and communities. Services include bereavement counselling, befriending services, confidence building, volunteering opportunities, help into work. A range of holistic therapies: Indian head massage, aromatherapy, reflexology. Courses in textiles, child care, computer, dressmaking and textile training. Well being activities: keep fit, yoga, gym and sauna. On site nursery.

The WEA (Workers’ Educational Association) 101 centre is a small, friendly educational establishment, within walking distance of the city centre, where adults can return to learn.  Our programme operates from a recently refurbished Victorian building.  We pride ourselves on offering students, both old and new, a friendly welcome.  Whether its new skills you want to learn to help you get that job, develop a new interest or keep fit and healthy, then we have something to offer.
