LAMP is a local, independent charity based in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland offering mental health advocacy and information to service users and their carers. We are looking to increase the number of Trustees to add to our Board and have 2 vacancies. We would be particularly interested in those with the following experience:

  • Campaigning
  • HR
  • Business Development

Head of Advocacy
£28,500
Permanent Position Full Time, 37 Hours per Week

An established independent local charity, LAMP, works to promote positive approaches to mental health, to support recovery, and to empower service users and carers to influence local service provision.

The CEO and Trustees are seeking an inspiring highly committed individual to join their Senior Management Team as Head of Advocacy.

The Head of Advocacy will lead a team of dedicated advocates in providing mental health advocacy support to services users and carers in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.

This role will be instrumental in delivering high quality performance and generating new opportunities to develop advocacy and related mental health services.

To succeed in this challenging role, you must:

  • Have a first-rate understanding of health and social care legislation, and be an excellent negotiator who is committed to promoting people’s rights. A mental health advocacy qualification is essential.
  • Have proven leadership qualities, preferably demonstrated by a track record at a comparable non-profit organisation.
  • Have experience of strategic planning, tendering, change management and implementing business plans, with an ability to understand complex issues and deliver effective solutions.
  • Be demonstrably committed to supporting the recovery and autonomy of service users and carers.
  • Have proven ability to network, identify and form key partnerships at local and regional level.
  • Have demonstrable experience of management and planning of budgets, implementing quality frameworks, controls and systems.

Your office will be at LAMP in Leicester. Regular travel will be necessary. Some evening and weekend working will be required.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer
£31,000

Permanent Position Full Time, 37 Hours per Week

An established independent local charity, LAMP, works to promote positive approaches to mental health, to support recovery, and to empower service users and carers to influence local service provision.

The CEO and Trustees are seeking an inspiring, highly committed individual to join a well-regarded organisation and its professional and dedicated team. The Deputy Chief Executive Officer will work with the Chief Executive to implement and regularly review LAMP’s vision, mission and strategic plans, and will successfully manage the organisation according to LAMP’s strategic direction, ensuring high quality services and continuous improvement.

To succeed in this challenging role, you must:

  • Have experience of strategic planning, change management and business plan implementation.
  • Have extensive experience of managing the tendering process, preparing and submitting tenders for service contracts and larger grant bids.
  • Have experience of managing operating budgets and day to day financials to ensure that services are operated within agreed budgets.
  • Have experience of managing adherence to contractual commitments, ensuring that the reporting and monitoring requirements of service contracts are fulfilled, and also identifying and securing contracts to ensure service continuation.
  • Have experience of implementing policies, procedures, systems and processes at an operational level, ensuring that both current and new services are established and maintained in line with LAMP’s strategic direction.
  • Have proven ability to network, identify and form key partnerships at local and regional level, with the key aim of promoting the profile, role and impact of LAMP with service users, carers, commissioners, voluntary sector partners, health and social care professionals and educational bodies.
  • Have proven leadership qualities, preferably demonstrated by a track record of leading a diverse team of at a comparable non-profit organisation.
  • Be an excellent negotiator who is committed to promoting people’s rights and ensuring that LAMP continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the local mental health alliance of service users and carers.

Your will be based at LAMP’s office in Leicester.

Some evening and weekend working will be required.
