Every day, more people in crisis are turning to Lamp because they have nowhere else to go. For many, we are their last hope.

Mental Health is complex. Our work involves listening, understanding, planning, supporting, and ensuring individuals feel empowered. Mental Health cannot be ‘cured’ with one conversation; it takes time to form trust and discover the best next steps for the individual’s needs. Our advocates devote hours, days, even months to providing the best support and ensuring our clients get the help and support they are entitled to. In recent months, we’ve seen a 75% increase in referrals not only from individuals and families, but also from friends, professionals, and even the NHS itself.

Despite this growing demand, vital funding, including NHS support, has been withdrawn. We now rely solely on voluntary income to continue delivering the life-changing services our community depends on. Lamp has always been and will always remain free at the point of need. But we are now at a critical crossroads. Without urgent funding, we may no longer be able to meet the growing demand or respond quickly enough to those in crisis. That’s why today we are launching an Emergency Appeal to raise £150,000 in 150 days.
