Shine a light for LAMP in aid of Mental Health

LAMP’s shine a light campaign seeks to encourage people to call, message or reach out and emphasise the importance of a conversation.

This campaign will run from 10th September, which marks World Suicide Prevention Day, and the theme is ‘Creating Hope through Action,’ until 10th October, which marks World Mental Health Day, and the theme is Mental Health in an Unequal World’.

Be the light in someone’s darkness

How to get involved?

Between 10th September and 10th October, we want you to be the light in someone’s darkness!

We want you to reach out to your friends, family, and colleagues and light up their phone with a conversation and a positive message.

Walk, Talk and Shine

Join us for our Walk, Talk and Shine event on 10th October where we aim to come together in aid of mental health and walk around Victoria Park with our phone lights shining bright to raise awareness of the power of talking.

Sunday 10th October – Victoria Park – 7pm – 8pm

Register your attendance here : https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/shine-a-light-for-lamp-campaign-tickets-169449892189

Why not shine your light every day?

    • Message someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Whether it is to arrange a coffee or walk, or a simple how are you text?
    • You don’t have to use your phone. Why not put a positive message in your window at home and light it up for people to see? Changing the message each day or week.
    • Reach out to people on social media with a ‘I am here to talk’ showing you’re readily available to someone in need

There are many ways to be the light during dark times. Maybe you are the light, and you need to be seen. Shine and talk.

What £5 means?

A large cup of coffee, a large glass of wine, a meal at McDonalds?

£5 is a conversation!!

LAMP provides mental health advocacy and support to those feeling like they are not being listened to. Imagine being diagnosed with a mental illness and set on a ‘recovery’ path that you believe isn’t right for you. LAMP want to TALK and empower those people to speak up, explore options and be the person they want to be!

Text LAMP to 70085 to donate £5

Texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message and you’ll be opting in to hear more about our work and fundraising via telephone and SMS. If you’d like to give £5 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text LAMPNOINFO to 70085.
